History and Up date for 2010

My Communion

black people's ministry in MCC was created in September 2003 at the beginning of my candidacy year at MCC North London. Birthed as a lay ministry, it described the continuation of my journey as the only person of African and Caribbean descent seeking ordination in MCC UK at that time. My multicultural theological education was granted equivalency by MCC HQ enabling the fulfillment of the Denomination's formation requirements. Later that year in December 2003, I created my web based e-ministry www.blackpeoplesministries.com continuing "bpm in mcc" as a sub ministry. I was ordained at MCC North London in November 2004 and become the first minister of African descent in MCC UK. Prior to this, I had just begun a three year, full time, Arts and Humanities Research Council funded doctoral research programme at the University of Birmingham. Towards the end of my write-up year in 2008, health issues meant a temporary leave of absence from my studies and MCC ministry. Presently I have resumed my studies in order to complete this academic year and I have pre-retired from MCC. I am a member of MCC East London where I preach occasionally. Whilst I will maintain a presence in MCC UK through "bpm in MCC" and my church membership, my primary ministry is within a wider commitment to our black community here in England and Jamaica.
